To get my first passport, must all the info on my application match my license? Even eye color?

My license lists my eye color as hazel when it is actually blue. I need to apply for my first passport and am wondering if I have to go to the DMV to get that piece of information corrected before doing so. It's probably a good idea. It's government and they like to make you jump through hoops. Get things straight ahead of time.
