Is there any danger or risk for permanent eye liner??

ok so my mom wants to ';tatto'; eye liner on permantely and i wanted to know if there was ANY dangers or risks...thanxIs there any danger or risk for permanent eye liner??
No one seems to be having a problem with it.

I had it done several years ago and don't regret it. It does look too dark at first but fades pretty fast. It looks natural now. When your mother gets 80, she won't look bad like someone else said.

They use a topical anesthetic and that does help with the pain. It is not unbearable. I also had my lips done. Now that is VERY painful.

I don't understand all the criticism. Has anyone actually heard of some horrid infection caused by cosmetic tattooing? Is there any danger or risk for permanent eye liner??
eh i would say that i think tatoos are pretty dangerous period..

Something could go wrong.. i've read stuff up about it..

Why doesnt she just use waterproof eyeliner or something? That stuff stays on pretty long.. Suppose she gets tired of it? Well its your moms descision.. getting a tattoo period is pretty risky... Make sure the place she gets it done is reliable
the biggest concern is that the people who do cosmetic tattoos usually work in salons and such, and usually don't have previous experience with tattoos. they take a course (usually for a very short period of time) and are then ';certified'; to do cosmetic makeup. because they are unexperienced, the ink can go too deep (potential blood poisoning) or too shallow (causing it to leak out).

in many salons, there is also a lack of proper hygiene; they don't have autoclaves for their instruments. this is how diseases and viruses are spread.

as long as you are VERY careful, there shouldn't be any major complications.
i think that if you put it on i could cause pink eye and redness arond your eye so no do not where it
well, it would probably hurt REALLY badly, plus, if the style changes and she no longer wants that color or shape of liner, shess be stuck with it.
I know a few people who have had that done. It looks great fo awhile but needs to be retouched every so often. I was told it hurt more than a regular tattoo does.
There are dangers in any tatoo service. its done with needles and dye. you run the risk of infection as with anything. Ive see it done and knew people that did it an havent ever seen infections or reactions but im sure that have been. Make sure you use a reputable esthetician and have a consult done before hand and even ask to see others they have done or numbers so u can call there clients and ask. Then you will feel better. GL
the only risk is having to show up to church as an 85 year old and have on black eyeliner. . . the only risk is humliation
im all about tattoos, not so much getting my eyelid tattood. aside the risk that i think there is a high chance of my eyeball being stabbed, im sure there isn't anything else that is too serious. styles change, i would advise her to not get makeup permanently tattooed.
Tell her not to get that done. Think about it, would you always want heavy black eyeliner on no matter what? I mean sometimes you want to wear none or just eyeliner on the top, for a soft pretty look.

Also about the answer above, I don't know many people that go to get cosmetic tattooing in salons and beauty places, it is actually offered in most real tattooing places. My friend's mom got it done...she regrets it.
Well, it probably wouldn't be in the same place when she is 60.
