Ok, who has some eyeshadow advice for someone ';my age'; LOL!
My hair is blonde, skin tone medium with a bent toward being a bit reddish (I tone it down with makeup) my eyes are green, more bluish, less hazel.
Can anyone recommend eyeshadow colors and finishes.
I don't know if it just getting older, but it seems I cannot get my eyes to look good anymore.
Should I stick with mattes, or can I use some shimmers, and what colors would make the green really stand out.
I am getting a completely new hairdo this week and I want my makeup to look really great. And my eyes will be much more notiecable,
soooooo, HELP!!!
thanks!Eye shadow and application techniques for over 40?
My eye lids started getting crepe-y at a relatively early age. That is why you have to be careful with the more frost/shimmers, as they seem to accentuate.
I still use my shimmers but in certain areas. For instance, I'm really loving some of the new Matte colors that MAC carries. I have older shadows from them which shimmer, like a basic champagne color like Shroom. I can no long wear that in the inner corner or lid. I reserve it for the brow. I purchased the following:
Poison Pen
Handwritten
Memorabilia
Blanc Type
Those would look great on you as well.
I still use my darker frosts, but reserve for outer corner of eyes, and/or wet them as a liner. My favorite color is Humid by MAC and I would hate to give that up! You would look great with that shade of green.
I would stay away from liquid liners, and use a waterproof pencil. Avoid black - is very harsh looking.Eye shadow and application techniques for over 40?
ONLY DO MATTES
don't do eleaborate things that younger people could pull off like sparkles and bright purple and stuff
tbh if i was you, i would buy a taupe[MAC's 'Cork'], a baby pink [MAC's 'Swish'] very light blue[MAC's 'Clarity'], a gray['Dark Edge'], and a black['Carbon'], and a shimmer white['Vanilla'].
on normal days just wear black eyeliner, black mascara. and the Taupe shadow on your lid.
when you go out to lunch or a birthday party or something, wear the pink or the blue, depending on your outfit, when you go out with you girlfriends, or to a nice dinner with your husband, wear the black, white and gray and make a smokey eye,
the key is to keep it simple, clean, and mature,
if youre going to a party or event or out to dinner ddo a w
Keep it simple. Stay away from shimmers. They are for younger girls. Use a very neutral and natural tone on the eyelid and a white up near the brow to add brightness to the eye area. I have green eyes. So I have a champaigne color, and I also use light browns on my lid.
